Dry Creek Vineyard True family style winery began as a former prune orchard in 1972 through the vision of its founder, Dave Stare. His daughter, Kim, writes a fun Wine Blog on their site. Alexander Valley Vineyards The Wetzel family bought an old prune orchard in 1962 that is now producing 100, 000 cases of award winning wines per year. Seventeen varietals are featured with 75% of those being red wine (my personal favorites). Special Events all summer with wine, food, and music in and amongst the towering redwoods and lucious gardens make this a popular destination. Private Parties and Tours by reservation, Barrel Tasting and Cyrus Winemaker Dinners round out the offerings. The Tasting Room is open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Mill Creek Vineyards and Winery The Kreck family planted this land three generations ago in 1965. Mill creek is the real deal with all the grapes from their fifty-five acres processed on their property with no imported grapes from other vineyards. There is a pleasant picnic area available for public use. Nothing will hinder your peaceful day at this site. That being said this is a working winery... gurgling brook, wandering cows, flowering plums, and all. The Tasting Room is open daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Rodney Strong Vineyards
World class glam, state of the art, modern, Sonoma County winemaker. This winery makes wine in a big way! The Klein Family took over in 1989 where Rod Strong began in 1959. There is Barrel Tasting, a Hospitality Center, and a Big Green Lawn where they host Special Events co-sponsored by KJZY. Don't expect to get off cheap. These events cost anywhere from $40-$65 a pop and they always sell out the likes of Chris Isaak, David Sanborn, and Jazz Attack with Rick Braun.
The Hospitality Center is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Hop Kiln Winery
All time favorite, friendly, casual, and peaceful. I love a Thousand Flowers - fruity, floral - great for a picnic of French bread, cheese, and fruit. Big Red is a combination of the lively local reds - good for a bar-b-que. I also love the historic building that was built by the Walker family in the mid 1800's to process hops. Ducks play in a small pond. Remnants of hops and clover spring up in the surrounding lawns. Don't miss it!

Korbel Champagne Cellars

A GREAT place to begin a Westside Road Winery Tour! Begin your day with a champagne picnic breakfast and end with dinner in Healdsburg! My advice is HIRE A DRIVER so you can enjoy the day without guilt or fear. The magnificent backdrop of the surrounding Redwood forest is the first thing you notice upon approaching Korbel. Soak it all in... you can breathe here! This is one of my favorite places on Earth - the Russian River - the perfect climate for growing grapes and ... People! Korbel has a Rose Garden Tour, a Champagne Cellar Tour, a Tasting Room, a Deli & Wine Shop, a Picnic Area, and a Small Railroad Museum.
Tours are usually on the hour. Rose Garden Tour is seasonal.
The Tasting Room is open from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
