Guerneville is the western limit of the wine countty's Russian River Valley.
This resort town is famous for the Russian River Jazz Festival and the Russian
River Blues Festival. Successive waves of immigration by loggers, farmers,
back to the land types, gays, and regular folks seeking affordable housing
have created a diverse community that's as fun to be a part of as to visit.
Driving for less than half an hour from Guerneville lets you reach the Sonoma coast to the west, Healdsburg to the north east and Sebastopol's apple and wine country to the south east. There are bed and breakfast inns scattered all over the Russian River Valley from Forestville's Farmhouse Inn to the Village Inn in Monte Rio.
Adventurous visitors often take a canoe trip down the Russian River, or explore the rugged Pacific beaches, or a fishing or whale watching trip from Bodega Bay. Most folks, like me, will settle for some superb wine tasting on Westside Road or a great meal at one of our local restaurants. If you love great hospitality and the friendliness of a bed and breakfast stay, our charming Russian River Valley bed and breakfast inns are bound to please you.
