We are fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the world. We don’t have any problems attracting medical specialists here to ply their trade. In spite of our well staffed hospitals, clinics, and private practices, we still have too many people without insurance and too many people who don’t know how to take advantage of all the health care that is available to them. We have some information on this site, particularly about hospitals and clinics, but we will be adding more physicians, dentists and other health professionals to our lists. Usually you don’t find articles praising dentists on the front page of community websites, but after a friendly and painless visit to Dr. Jason Ford, I feel that I must make an exception. Dr Ford (He likes being called Jason) is the only dentist I have ever willingly opened my mouth for. He is quick, gentle, and comforting – three attributes that are difficult to find in any one person….let alone a dentistHe takes a personal interest in the kind of person you are before even looking into your mouth. He chats you up about your hobbies, TV shows, business interests, whatever….AND he takes notes. What a guy! How many professionals do you know who take the time to actually get to know who you are before delving into the depths of your most private spaces?

Dr. Walter A Baker in Guerneville runs one of the most interesting dental operations in the North Bay. He’s a one man shop that only takes a few appointments per day. No receptionist hassle, no jumping from room to room. Just you and Dr. Baker chatting, listening to music, and taking care of teeth. To top off this unique service, the charges for his work are substantially less than you would pay anywhere else. He’s located in the old Bank of America building across from Safeway.
